NoTD: CoverGirl's Pina Colada

Hi beauties! Can you believe tomorrow is August 1st?? Where did summer go?! Today, in celebration of the dog days of summer, I bring you a very bright nail of the day post. This is Covergirl's Pina Colada. It's part of the nailtini line. It's a very tiny, cute bottle. I wish nail polish would just be sold in this size bottle, perhaps then I'd actually use up a bottle.

I picked this up at Target a few months ago but haven't gotten around to doing a post on it. I thought it would be a lot more pastel, as the bottle made it seem, but its actually a very bright neon yellow. I'm not a hundred percent sold on the color, I just don't think it looks good on me. On someone with a better tan, I think it would look great. As for formulation, it leaves much to be desired. It was very streaky, even with 3 coats which I used. It also chipped within a few hours. And I used a top coat!! If I had to say one positive thing about this polish, is that it was extremely shiny even before I put on the top coat.
I did get a lot of compliments while wearing this polish, so I guess people like it on my nails more than I do. I've only tried 2 other of Covergirl's nail line but I'm overall not impressed. What do you think of the Covergirl polishes? Until next time, stay gorgeous!

Daily tidbits:
1. I just found out my housing assignment at college and found out I'm in an off campus townhouse(which is still considered college housing) and its completely unfurnished. Expect lots of organizational and décor posts coming your way!
2. We are getting crazy busy at work because back to school season is in full swing.
3. Along that note, tax free weekend in Iowa is this weekend. Guess who's going shopping?? This girl right here!

Nail of the Day: Essie's Spring 2013 Collection Madison Ave-Hue

Hello beauties! I'm here with another nail of the day post. I'm in love with the polishes from Essie I picked up a few weeks ago and today I'm wearing Madison Ave-Hue and I am obsessed with it! It's totally gorgeous and great for spring and summer.

It's a purplish, fuchsia-pink, almost bordering on magenta. There's also a very subtle shimmer in the bottle, but you have to look really hard to see it on your nails. Chipping wise, this has a better staying power than the last Essie polish I reviewed(Essie's Avenue Maintain ).  It's been on my nails for a week now and only now am I experiencing some minor chipping.

That's it for this blog post.  I totally recommend this polish to anyone who's looking for a fun pink to add to their collection.  Until next time.  Thanks for reading!!

Nail of the Day:Suzi and the 7 Düsseldorf's

Hi beauties! If you read my last post, you know that I picked up some new OPI polishes and I was very excited to use them.  I had a hard time picking which one to use first so by process of eany meany miney mo, I settled on Suzi and the 7 Düsseldorf's.

I’m in love with color!   Seriously, I couldn’t stop looking at my nails and I received so many compliments on it. It’s a very pretty purple with red shimmer, which I thought was different because I’d never seen a polish with red shimmer. It’s so beautiful and I highly recommend going to the nearest place that sells OPI and picking up a bottle of this. Until next time, stay gorgeous!

Nail of the Day: Revlon’s Flirt

003

Oh my goodness, I feel like I haven’t posted a blog post in forever! Which is probably true. I’ve been so busy with work, family stuff, and life in general. You all know how that goes, I’m sure.

Anyway, I’ve been frequenting Target lately(if you haven’t seen my latest haul video, I’ll link it below) and on my latest trip I picked up this lovely polish by Revlon called Flirt.  May I just say how in love I am with this nail polish! It’s a beautiful pink with some slight purplish, blue undertones. In natural light it looks like a rosy color. I have had this on for two days and have noticed some slight chipping but working in a classroom can cause that. Still a great polish that everyone should consider adding to the their collection.

Speaking of nail polish, I’ve been considering going on a no nail polish buying ban and trying to use some of the many polishes I have that I never reach for anymore.  Along with that I thought about featuring all the polish through some sort of blog series. I’ve seen other bloggers doing the same with lip products and such and thought the idea was kind of cool. What do you all think of that, would that be something you would be interested in?  If so, let me know!

Nail of the Day: Wet n Wild On a Trip

006

I’ve never been so excited about a nail polish that I picked up on a whim! I picked this up from Walgreens when they had Wet n Wild nail polishes for only 99 cents. This color is gorgeous and looks amazing against my skin tone. I feel like this will be a great color for summer. Unfortunately it doesn’t stand up well to chipping. I noticed chipping on day 2.  Some Wet n Wild polishes don’t chip even after a week, and I do dishes, clean and work out a lot, but sometimes a few just chip like crazy.  But I’m loving this polish, so I don’t care that it chips, I’ll just repaint my nails with it Smile

Nail of the Day: Zoya’s Megan

In my January Birchbox I received a sample of Zoya’s nail polish in Megan. This is part of Zoya’s new collection called Feel. This is my first experience with Zoya. I’ve heard of the brand, but have never had the chance to try one of their polishes.

This milky, purplish gray color is gorgeous. The formulation is cream, not a big fan of cream finish polishes but this really has won me over. It only took two coats to reach a desired look and finish which amazed me, because normally I have to use three coats.

All in all, I’m thoroughly please with this polish Smile
