Review+Swatches: Stila’s All Is Bright Lip Glaze Set

001

Oh my gosh!! Why has it been so long since I’ve done a blog post??? I’m such a bad beauty blogger. I’ve been very busy working and dealing with family stuff and the holidays that my blog was put on the back burner.  But I have lots of reviews planned with all the new drugstore goodies coming out so stay tuned!

If you read my Wishlist Wednesday post I did on the Stila All Is Bright lip glaze set, you know that I’ve been wanting this set for a couple months.  Well, I finally bought it and am so happy with it!  Almost every color in this set are great, very pigment and gorgeous. There are, however a couple duds, which you’ll see later in the swatches.

 003

First up is Jack Frost, which is a champagney-pink with lots of iridescent glitter.  It definitely lives up to the frosty name. This isn’t very opaque and has hardly any color to it when applied alone, but it looks really pretty of a lipstick.

004

Next is Jingle, which is a coraly pink color.  It has tiny, barely noticable shimmer that you really have to look closely for. This too is also very sheer so use it on top a lipstick to get the most bang for your buck.

005

Holly is the most brightest, most pigmented gloss in the set.  It’s a burnt, orangish-red with small, barely there shimmer. This one was fun wearing during the holiday Smile

006

This is Joy, a very pretty blue toned pink. This is one of the few matte glosses in the set. I really don’t consider this one as something that should have been included in a holiday set, its much more suitable for the spring season. It is nicely pigmented though.

007

This is Jolly and it’s a true pink with a subtle shimmer. This is a great gloss to put on top of nude lip and pair with a bit of a smokey eye!

008

This is Splender and its another very sparkley gloss that appears to be a true pink in the tube but its actually quite sheer.

009

This is the second really dark gloss in the whole set. Black Cheery is a dark berry color with a little bit of shimmer that’s super goregous. I was expecting a little more color payoff from this when applied to the lips but applies a little too sheer for my tastes. So I apply a berry colored lip liner(which I’ve recently starting experimenting with lip liners) from NYX and it was my favorite lip color for the holidays!

010

And last, but certainly not least is Sugarplum. This is a matte, mauvey-pnk. This was a bit more opaque than Black Cherry and is one of my favorites from the whole set. I like to pair this on top of MAC’s Angel.

011

Here’s a picture of swatches which are(From L to R) Jack Frost, Jingle, Holly, Joy, Jolly, Splender, Black Cherry, and Sugarplum.  I really do like some of the glosses in this set and it was a great value to get eight glosses for $25. But do I feel like this set was something special or had to have…not so much.  The pinks were very generic and some of the glosses were way to sheer for my liking. I really like Stila Lip Glazes, even though they are super sticky but I think if I were to redo it, I might pass up on this set.

The All Is Bright lip glaze set was a holiday set that was sold at Sephora, Ulta and Stila Cosmetics but I’m not sure if it’s in stock anymore.

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe holiday! One of my new years resolutions to post more so wish me luck on that! Thanks for reading!!

November Favorites!

This is a little late but I wanted share with you my November Favorites! I have lots of new products to talk about!

Primers-I really enjoyed playing with some face primers in November. I used Tarte's Clean Slate Poreless and Benefit's Pore-fessional.  I prefer Benefit's better as its tinted and seems to hide my pores better.

Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie-Wore this so much this month, can't believe I haven't really used it before.

NYX Lipgloss in Tea Rose-Super pretty deep pink. Very pigmented.

L'oreal Infallilbe Pressed Eyeshadows in Iced Latte and  Bottomless Java-These are super pigmented and creamy and are wonderful eyeshadows. I can't wait to buy more!!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Pencil Duo in Zero and Whiskey- I finally tried a pencil from Urban Decay and am obssessed! I must have more of them in my life!

Jordana Fabuliner- Another eyeliner to talk about. It was the month of eye products. I can't believe I haven't tried this eyeliner yet. I won it in a giveaway and was super excited. It's my new holy grail liquid eyeliner. :)

TheBalm Body Builder Mascara-This was a fail product in October but now its a favorite product for the month of November. Once it dried out a bit, it was perfect for adding some drama to my eyelashes, not something I liked by the way. My eyelashes are long enough without mascara, but I actually like the way this makes lengthens and defines them.

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Beige-Finally got my hands on this baby and its now my favorite base!

Sigma's E60 Large Shader brush-Using to to apply my color tattoos. It applies the color sheerly and blends super nicely. I have a coupon code for Sigma, which is 10% off your order. Use DEC2012 at check out! http://www.sigmabeauty.com/?Click=224226

Bath and Body Works Charmed Life Lotion-Rediscoverd from my collection, sadly this is discontinued. Why BB&? Why must you discontinue all the good scents??

Got2B Guardian Angel Curling Heat Protectant-This is a great heat protectant that holds curls amazingly!

That's it for my November Favorites. Already looking forward to my December Favorites because I have a lot of new products I've been playing with and already have some new favorites! See you guys next time!

Sigma Holiday Gift Guide

Hi everyone!  Well, it’s December now and that means it’s officially the start of the holiday season.  This is the first post in my holiday gift guide series, featuring gift ideas from Ulta/Sephora, Bath and Body Works, and today, Sigma Beauty.  I’ll be featuring 5 products that I think would be great gifts to recieve,(and that I’m hoping Santa leaves under the tree for me Smile)If there are any other particular stores or brands you’d like to see a gift guide for, please let me know! SmileI also will have a discount code that is good for 10% off your entire order.  Sigma also offers a gift  with purchase if your order is over $30. My gift with purchase was a travel sized E25 blending brush. It is now my favorite brush Smile

I love Sgima’s brushes, they are simply amazing and so worth the investment.  If you’re a beginner, or are looking for a gift for a person just starting out in makeup I suggest checking out the Sigma Essential Kit, which contains just about every brush a person could need to apply their makeup. This kit goes for $98 but for the amount of brushes and the quality of the brushes makes it well worth it.

If you know someone who is and eyeshadow junkie and is looking for a great palette to add to their collection, Sigma has 3 permanent palettes to choose from. One that' I’ve had my eye one for a long time is the Bare Palette, cause if you’ve been following me then you know I love neutral eyeshadows. I think this is a great alternative to the Urban Decay Naked palette, not only because its cheaper, but because it offers more matte shades, has 2 different highlight shades, and also has a nice purple thrown in there too.

For the budding makeup artist, Sigma has a great synthetic brush line that applies makeup flawlessly.  Brushes in this set are designed to apply liquid foundation and a shaped to get right in those tight spaces such as the inner corners of your eye and around your nose.  This kit would be a great addition to anyone’s collection.

If you know someone who is vegan or against animal cruelty, this next product is the perfect gift.  Sigma has a vegan brush set that is extremely cute and functional.  This is the travel set of the Mrs. Bunney kit.  I think the pink and blue brushes are just adorable! This kit also comes with a blue travel case.

The last product I want to talk to you guys about is a newly released, limited edition palette created by one of my all time favorite makeup gurus, MakeupbyTiffanyD.  The Defining Eyes palette contains everything you need to create an eye look; eyeshadow, gel liner, a eyeliner pencil and even comes with a brush duo all for only $55!
